Description
This course, Holistic Health and Wellness, is designed to promote positive health attitudes and to provide current information in the areas of individual, family, and community health. The course provides students with an introduction to evidence-based health and wellness resources. These resources will be used to understand practices, including disease prevention, nutrition, exercise, mindfulness, and stress management, that lead to positive health outcomes. The relationship between lifestyle and health will be explored, along with strategies to make positive changes. Additionally, the influence of gender, culture and race on health will be investigated on the personal and global level.
At the completion of this course, students will be able to:
1. Identify the concepts of behavioral risk factors, health promotion and disease prevention.
