Description
This course provides students with a basic understanding of the medical vocabulary necessary for subsequent coursework as well as careers in health-related fields. It teaches the essential language of healthcare by focusing on word parts, roots, prefixes and suffixes, as well as pronunciation. Topics will include the use of word parts, medical terminology, word-building skills, spelling, abbreviations, and medical records. In addition, the course provides contextualized support for English Language Learners (ELL)
