Tutoring

If you feel you have trouble with math, reading or writing skills, Laboure' offers free tutoring to students!  We have a department called Center for Student Success and Teaching Excellence (CSSTE) that can help you.  The first step is to e-mail your instructor and let them know you would like help.  The instructor will then fill out a form and submit it to CSSTE.  CSSTE will then contact you within about 2 weeks therefore, don't wait until the last minute to ask for help.  We want our Laboure' graduates to be well rounded professionals and we want you to take advantage of every service we offer!

 

If you would like EEG tutoring or advice from a 2nd or 3rd semester EEG student who has gone thru what you are going thru, contact Lauren Masuda at lauren_masuda@students.laboure.edu or Sara Duncan at sara_duncan@students.laboure.edu .  They are both peer tutors for our NDT students and they are fabulous!

 

 

Exam Instructions

Quiz and Final Exam Specifications:

 

The quizzes and tests are set to block certain activities. You need to be sure you do the following, or you’ll lose your chance to take the test. It will boot you out. It won’t be re-opened for you.

You’ve studied too hard for this, so be sure you follow the specs below. Check each one off as you prepare to log on to take your quiz or test:

o Be sure you completely reboot your computer before you log on to take a quiz. Updates lurking behind the scenes are considered a threat by the Learning Management System.

 

o Be sure you have no other browser windows open while taking an exam, such as google, FB, your email, anything and everything.

 

o Do not use your back button or refresh button.

 

o Be sure you have strong internet connectivity. How many bars do you see?

 

o Do not use a hospital computer or hospital wi-fi.

 

o Do not use Internet Explorer. Anything else is better, such as Firefox, Google Chrome, Mozilla, etc.

 

o Take the quiz in plenty of time to finish before the deadline. Quizzes are usually 30 minutes or less. Check with your instructor beforehand if in doubt. If you log on with less time than the quiz takes to complete before it closes, you won’t be able to finish.

Hello! 

My name is Debby Baydoun and I live in Indianapolis, IN.  Professionally: I have been in the field of neurodiagnostics since 1983 and I was the Program Director of an accredited neurodiagnostic program in Indy for 15 years.  I have been teaching neurodiagnostic courses for Laboure since 2009.  I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Healthcare Administration from the University of Southern Indiana and a Masters degree in Health Science Education from Indiana University. My credentials include: REEGT, REPT, RNCST, RPSGT, RST and CNCT. I am very active in ASET and ISETT (Indiana END Society). I was an ABRET oral board examiner in both EEG and EP back when there were oral exams. I am currently the Vice Chair of the CoA-NDT, they accredit neurodiagnostic programs and I am an ASET fellow (FASET).

Personally:  My husband & I love animals and have 2 spoiled little dogs, an Italian Greyhound named Misty and a long haired Dachshund named Tabitha.  We just bought a house so, we always have a room we are re-doing.  I also like comedy and attend comedy concerts. I am addicted to TV and watch a lot of movies.

What to Expect from This Course

Welcome to your first online professional NDT course offered through Laboure College.  I look forward to working with you, as you begin your journey into the exciting field of Neurodiagnostic Technology.  Please view directions on how to navigate the course by clicking on my courses on the left side of the screen then, click on Welcome to eLearning at Laboure' College. The Student Handbook and Syllabus are available to you as well, please fill out the student handbook acknowledge form as described in the 1020 course.  Your Coursework is ready and check out Collaboration to meet your colleagues.  You should begin by adding a photo in Personal Information and going to Collaboration/Forums and tell us a bit about yourself.  
 
Each unit/each week, you will find your lesson objectives, a summary of your assignments, power point videos and handouts.  
 
 
This is a fast paced course and we are here to help.   Feel free to email me with questions any time debra_baydoun@laboure.edu.  I will return your correspondence within a few hours if it is Monday - Friday days.  In the evenings or on the weekends, I usually get back within 24 hours.  Get going, we have loads of great information to learn and share!
 
 
 
 
 
 

 

 

 

The Weekly Routine

Time Management

 
 

Time Management:

Efficiently managing your time is a critical aspect for success in this course.  Visiting eLearning several times a week is necessary.

Here is a sample to help you get in the rhythm of things, hope you find this helpful!   Studying for an hour several times a week helps you retain the information better than studying for 5 hours once a week.  In other words, study in short bursts instead of trying to cram it all in in one day.  Take handouts with you to your clinical site and study during downtime.
