Description

The purpose of this clinical practicum is to provide a student-designed learning experience that assists the student to synthesize concepts and knowledge learned in the RN-BSN program. The student will work in conjuncture with a mentor to research and experience a particular aspect of professional nursing practice related to the role of the baccalaureate registered nurse. This course involves 9 hours per week; this time is flexible to maximize the student learning by allowing practical application of theory and principles in a practice setting. Four hours per week is with direct contact with mentor. A one-hour seminar with faculty each week provides continuity in the course objectives. Consideration is given to the student?s career objectives be it service, education or administration. A key feature of this course is the incorporation of the evidence-based research project drawn from a real-life situation.
