Description
Clinical education parallels course content in NUC 112. Students are assigned to a clinical facility where application of basic knowledge of medical terminology, patient interviewing skills, screening and assessing nutritional status and communication through the medical record are emphasized. Students continue the development of a portfolio of nutrition resources for use in their clinical practice and with future patients/clients. Students are required to complete a nutritional case study on a selected patient. Students are required to share their experiences both
orally and in writing and these experiences are designed to promote critical thinking, information literacy, research, and writing skills. There is an emphasis on providing patient-centered care
utilizing evidence-based practice as a contributing member of a multidisciplinary team. Prerequisites NUC 101, 102, ANA 101
